How to recover lost space from pen/flash removable media

Monday, December 12, 2011
Few days ago, I was in a bit strange situation as one of my 2 gbs pen drive shows the total capacity to only 500 mb space. And with in windows system properties almost half of the space about 260 mbs shows in use and around 220 mb of free space, while as I have said the actual space it should show about 1.9 gbs. Then at first I thought it may have been damaged but I was not sure when as everything was fine... means accessibility, reading, copying and even formatting, though only up to 500mbs is perfect then it must be because of any other reason and this derives me to search for format utility to do the job.
And I was lucky as after trying some utilities I found the HP Format disk utility which is quite good as it has restored all the space which the pen drive had missed. And this is not all this utility was even capable of creating a dos startup disk at the same time while formatting pen drive. This is sure the very good tiny application and is very useful as nowdays use of pen drives has increased very rapidly for data transfers between one PC to another PC making this utility into must have utility... If you also like to try it once ... which i am sure then follow the download link at 4shared and make your pen drives works perfect...
Download HP Format Disk Utility from here
This utility can also be considered a must have Utility installed in a PC. May be right now you don't need it, but am sure tomorrow you will sure need it as these days the use of Pen/Flash drives has increased very rapidly and who knows when we need such utility.
